Ask a Fisherman, What do you keep in your tackle box?

Do you know that many fisherman, who spend a lot of time fishing, actually never bother to ask a Fisherman what do you store in your tackle box? The answer is obvious, you throw your tackle box for safe keeping in your boat. Fishermen are very special people and they understand more than the rest. They will let you know exactly what it is that you should be carrying with you. This article will discuss the importance of carrying sunscreen.

We all love the sun. It is one of the greatest gifts we can receive from God. However, we must also realize that it can also harm us if we are not careful. As with any other product or item, we need to carefully check and test the sunscreens we apply to our bodies. The sun can cause us many problems from burning and/or drying our skin and hair to causing wrinkles and age spots on the skin.

Many new fishermen never get to ask the question, what does the sunscreen contain that I am applying to my body? If they did ask, most would answer that it contains oxybenzone which acts as an Ultraviolet blocker. Now don’t panic just yet. There are still other ingredients that your sunscreen may contain. Let me tell you about some of them.

Copper dioxide is added to sunscreens because it absorbs UV rays. Unfortunately, not all fish can tolerate copper dioxide. For example, steelhead and rainbow trout. You can see that you really need to test the sunscreen on a few different types of fish before you apply it liberally. Many experienced fishermen will never use sunscreen that contains copper dioxide.

When you do find fish that do like the sunscreen, then you should put a bit more on the hook. Remember that when you expose your bait to sunlight, they become sluggish and don’t reproduce as well. They simply don’t look at you the same way that they normally would and that means that you catch less fish.

So the next time you ask the question, what do you keep in your tackle box?, you might want to think twice about the sunscreen. You definitely need to think more about the other products that you add to your tackle box. You will also want to think about the size of the hook you want to attach to your fishing line. Just remember, if you have a lot of bass or larger sized fish, you need to have bigger hooks.
